The Alton Model Centre website only charges UK post at present, but we are hoping to expand shortly. We use Standard Royal Mail First Class Recorded Delivery services to send your purchases for which there is a £6 charge per item to you the customer. Our postage reflects Postage & Packing but in the event of a significant purchase and postage cost we may contact you and offer a rebate. If you require any further postal services other than this Standard Delivery we are open to negotiation via phone. The Recorded Delivery service doesn't offer insurance but your parcel will be track able. Special Delivery offers insurance (up to £500 compensation), and as an upgrade we would recommend you use this service, especially with expensive orders as it will give you peace of mind. If you have a special request for an item that you need quickly, please email us and we'll see what we can do for you. Depending on the postal option you prefer, the delivery charge will differ. However, because of the way in which PayPal works there has to be a set delivery charge and we have opted to give you our products at a standard £6 charge. If you have any other questions related to delivery and charges please do not hesitate to contact us. We reserve the right to create, increase or decrease the postal charges as necessary.
To cover ourselves we will state "Normal delivery" will take place approx 3-5 working days after your order is placed, depending on when you place the order and what time of day it is. This is due to the PayPal system and to protect ourselves from fraudulent buyers. The amount has to clear in the account, before the parcel can be sent. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you are in a hurry for any items, please don\'t hesitate to contact us and we'll see how we can help.
Please do not use the e-Cheque payment option in PayPal unless you don't need the items in a hurry. This is because the actual e-Cheque payment takes 5-10 days to clear, and then we have to wait for the amount to clear in our bank account. Altogether this process takes at least one week minimum.
In the event of a postal strike Alton Model Centre will do their very best to get your parcel delivered at the earliest possible opportunity. Although, delays should be expected on postal strikes, and Alton Model Centre are not accountable for this.
Need the Items Sent to a Different Address..
If you need your purchases sent to another address please put this in the PayPal box that asks for your address - state which address is the delivery address, and which one the invoice should be sent to. Alternatively email us and give all the details and we will be happy to do this for you. If the item is for a present please also include this information, so we can make sure the packaging is done appropriately.
If you want an item guaranteed for Christmas, you will need to order no later than 12th December.
All the items on this website are priced in British Pounds. Alton Model Centre is fully integrated to accept payments using PayPal. When you go to the Checkout page it will automatically take you to PayPal's secure payments page. If you do not already have an account with PayPal then you may need to register. This doesn't take long and it is very easy, all you will need is a credit card/bank account and email address. Alton Model Centre also accepts telephone Payment and Debit Card. Your items will be sent to you shortly after your order has been placed and paid for.
